According to the executive, while AI is becoming increasingly sophisticated and capable of independent action, it is essential that humans remain actively involved in guiding, supervising, and intervening in AI processes.
This “human in the loop” approach is seen as vital to ensuring ethical standards, accountability, and safety as AI systems take on more complex tasks across industries. The Google executive highlighted that without proper human oversight, the risks of unintended consequences, errors, or misuse increase significantly.
